I started doing construction and remodeling in 1980. I was 15 and I worked all summer with my uncles, Strother Adams and Davey Adams. Strother was a homebuilder then and still is today. They taught me how to build a house from the ground up. After I finished trade school at Dowell J Howard Vocational Center studying Building Trades and finishing at the top of my class, I started my own business. I worked for three different builders: Strother Adams Homes, Dave Hicks Construction and Nichols Construction. I started as a subcontractor to these builders. It did not take long for me to establish my reputation as a professional painter, trim carpenter and floor installer.
I worked long weekends and summers while attending Virginia Tech where I studied Business Management. After VT, I invested all of my energy into my business, continuing to learn new skills in all of the trades necessary to do a complete, excellent project.
I have built a few homes during my career, but I have decided that remodeling is more fulfilling and easier to control the quality. I like having my hands on every part of the job to insure it is at the level of perfection our customers expect. Our success continues today, one job at a time. I am very proud of our flawless reputation, and I feel blessed to be able to do what I love every day.
